The Rip City men are back in the win column after an exciting 118-109 victory over the Logan Thunder. The men were led once again by the scoring punch of Kouat Noi, as he poured in 33 points on the night.

The men also got contributions from Eric McAlister, who added 28 points and Izzy Tueta who scored 26 points.

Verle Williams scored 12 points and had a season high13 assists while Joe Chilcott added 11 points for good measure.

Jeremy Kendle was the strong punch for Logan, pouring in 36 points on the night. It was Louis Ilton’s second half defence that stifled Kendle’s barrage of baskets through the first two and a half quarters, that ultimately put Rip out in front.

The men will look to continue their winning ways this weekend against the Capitals, though it will be no easy task. The Brisbane men come in at 2-2, losing by one point to Northside in Round 1 and a six point loss to a strong Rockhampton side. They boast wins over Ipswich and defending champion Mackay.

Led by point guard Nick Stoddart who averages 17 points per game, followed by Max

Mackinnon’s 15 points per game.

Illawarra Hawks guard, Lachlan Dent has contributed 13 points per game since his arrival to the team.

The key for this game will be the need for continued scoring output from the men. After a slow defensive start to the season, the Caps defence is what has honed them as a threat to other teams, keeping an offensively loaded Mackay team to just 69 points.

You can catch the men as they take on the Caps at Auchenflower Stadium or on the NBL1 steam at 7pm this Saturday!
