The USC Rip City women continued their winning ways with two more wins over the weekend.

Friday night, the women took down the visiting Brisbane Capitals led Opal’s guard, Maddy Rocci.

Rocci filled the stat sheet on her way to a 25 point, 9 rebound, 6 assist, 4 steal and 3

block night. Ashley Arlen scored 21 points and a great overall contribution from junior Brooklyn Graves in very important minutes. The women came out with a strong defensive presence, limiting Capitals guard Abby Cubillo which shut off the engine for the Caps offence.

Then on Saturday night, the women backed up their win against the Red City Roar, coming out with a seven point victory.

Maddy Rocci continued her outstanding play with a club record 41(!!!) point outburst on a night where the offence failed to fire.

The Rip women did a great job of limiting opportunities for Red City outside of their go to players in Mia Loyd and Ariana Moorer.

A great weekend for the women as they keep their finals hopes alive.

The women have a big task this weekend, though, as they head off to Runaway Bay to play the North Gold Coast Seahawks.

The Seahawks come in after dropping two games this weekend to Cairns and Townsville that sees them drop from fifth on the ladder to the eighth spot.

The Seahawks boast one of the most balanced attacks in the competition, led by Doniyah Cliney’s16 points per game, Katie Deebles, 15 points, Erin Riley’s 14 points and Islays Qinones’ 12 points per game.

The Seahawks will look to play as a team and move the ball as they average just under 16 assists per game as a team.

The women will need to keep the ball out of the paint and hold strong defensively like they did over the past two weekends.

Catch the game down in Runaway Bay this Saturday at 6:30 or on the NBL1 livestream!
